Machine Operator (Hopper/Winder)Employees in this position may be trained on any or all of the production lines.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Follow all safety rules
Abide by Dalco Nonwovens policies and procedures as stipulated in the employee handbook
Inspect material to be used for production lines, making sure it is the correct material according to line set-ups
Unload incoming raw materials
Service the needle boards
Operate equipment including but not limited to the bologna slicer, forklift, and core cutter
Other duties as needed
Keep hopper loaded with the proper amount of specified fiber, making sure hoppers are level and consistent
Monitor hoppers to ensure they are operating properly and clean as needed
Monitor re-regrind consistency
Monitor card and cross-lapper areas periodically to look for issues that need attention
Tri-pack and help with front-end work when needed
Responsible for changing master rolls of fabric
Responsible for doffing rolls on the front end and starting new roll
Responsible for packaging and storage of finished rolls
Qualifications/Requirements:
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals

Experience:
Manufacturing experience a plus but not required

Skills:
Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Ability to use a tape measure
Must possess good communication skills
After Training:
Recognize quality issues and understand product issues
Recognize problems and use controls to stop line when necessary
Waste management
Inspect fabric for quality, flaws, etc
Work with tools and machinery and assist maintenance when necessary
Perform general preventative maintenance
Initiate procedures that minimize waste and operator error
Complete all requisite paperwork in a timely manner and provide Customer Service person with any requested information
Must be proficient with computer and labeling system
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift 10 lbs
Occasionally lift 50 lbs
